Job Overview:

Oliver Wyman CAVOK provides technical consulting and services to the aviation, rail, and energy sectors. An Oliver Wyman CAVOK SME will often relate to one of the sectors but multi-sector experience is a plus. As such, Oliver Wyman CAVOK provides comprehensive technical advisory support and services that relate to safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations in the sector. The subject matter expert must have experience in Quality Assurance and infrastructure to include maintenance operations, scheduled and preventive maintenance programs, reliability analysis, regulatory requirements and maintenance/engineering support. Able to understand and promote a Safety Management System (SMS) safety culture and define risk mitigation practices in SMS. Knowledge of industry or cross industry best practices, process evaluation/improvement methodologies, and project management are important competencies as well.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing subject matter expertise to clients in all matters related to operations and maintenance management of equipment and infrastructure
  • Maintain thorough and consistent client communication and support to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Review and interpret regulatory requirements for impact and compliance concerns in an SMS
  • Support clients in coordinating quality assurance and safety programs in concerns with regulatory authorities
  • Conduct analysis to determine effectiveness of current operation to regulatory requirements
  • Support quality audit teams by leading the assigned specialty are (maintenance, engineering, etc.) during assessments of client current state
  • Understand the program elements of an SMS including Safety Risk Assessment and Safety Risk Management
  • Work with a team to develop or improve upon client Continuing Analysis and Surveillance Systems (CASS)
  • Assess gaps in client documentation related to regulatory requirements
  • Write or revise client manuals to improve their compliance with aviation regulations
  • Travel nationally and internationally, as required, to support clients

 

Education and Experience:

  • Project management experience - preferred
  • Experience interacting with regulatory authorities and air carriers and/or repair stations – required
  • Experience conducting quality audits (company, DOD, IOSA, etc.)
  • Experience writing or revising aviation program manuals
  • Ability to multi-task
  • 5+ years of experience developing/operating commercial aviation Quality Assurance programs (Part 135, Part 121,145 or foreign equivalent) - required
  • General knowledge –of Safety Management Systems
  • Familiar with airline enterprise resource planning systems (TRAX, AMOS, MXI, SCEPTRE, ULTAMAIN, PMI, RAMCO, etc.) - preferred
  • A&P license - preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat - required
